7. Data Retention: How Long I Keep Your Information
Clinical Therapy & Couples Therapy Notes: In line with professional insurance requirements and standard UK psychotherapeutic practice, full client files and session summaries are kept for 7 years from the date your therapy ends. After this period, they are permanently and securely deleted or shredded.
Supervision Records: Supervisee records are held for 7 years post-contract termination.
Unaccepted Inquiries: If you get in touch but do not proceed to start therapy, your contact form details, emails, and texts will be deleted after 6 months
8. Who Your Data is Shared With (Confidentiality & Exceptions)
Your information is strictly confidential and will never be sold or used for marketing purposes. However, it may be shared under the following limited conditions:
Clinical Supervision: To comply with UKCP and EMDR Association UK standards, I regularly discuss my clinical work with a qualified supervisor. Your identity is kept fully anonymous during these professional consultations.
Risk of Harm & Safeguarding: If I believe there is an imminent and serious risk of harm to yourself or to others, I may be legally and ethically required to breach confidentiality to contact your GP, emergency services, or local safeguarding authorities. I will always endeavor to discuss this with you first where possible.
Legal Obligation: I may disclose information if required to do so by law, a court order, or a valid request from a statutory regulatory body.
Clinical Will: In the event of my sudden incapacitation or death, a designated professional executor (a qualified peer therapist bound by identical confidentiality rules) will be granted secure access to your basic contact details to notify you and arrange continuity of care.
